Koh Chang’s Top Family Hotels
Here are my picks for five of the best resorts to stay on Koh Chang with your family. These hotels all have facilities such as Kid’s Clubs, great pools, nice beaches and a reputation for being ‘child friendly’. This is all backed up by plenty of positive online reviews for each resort. So, regardless of which of these hotels you choose, I’m sure you’ll enjoy your time on the island. The choice is probably more down to which beach you want to stay on and the type of accommodation.
Centara Tropicana Resort is located on the glorious Thai island of Koh Chang, which literally translates as ‘Elephant Island’. As the name suggests, it is an amazing location to visit and people of all ages can find something appealing in this place of natural beauty. With plenty on offer, you are sure to find something to keep your family happy and entertained. As with all Centara resorts, children stay free with their parents, meaning that you don’t have to compromise on your trip at all!
Great Kids’ Facilities
Parents will be pleased to know that the Centara Tropicana Resort is perfectly suited for a family vacation. With an onsite children’s club, along with babysitting facilities, there will always be ways to keep your children safe and entertained while you find something more relaxing to do. If you want to spend time around the resort as a family, then there is a special children’s pool, with its own slide, where you can swim in safety, without worrying about being disturbed as it is tucked away from the beachfront. You can also take advantage of the family room, which offers fun activities to while away the evenings, such as table tennis.
Nature Within Easy Reach
Thanks to its placement on the serene Klong Prao Beach, this resort makes planning the perfect family beach holiday a breeze.
Many beautiful tourist attractions are within a 30 minute walk of the resort, such as the nearby Kai Bae beach, should you find yourself needing a change of scenery. Please be aware though that some sights, such as the nearby Klong Pru waterfall, must be accessed over difficult terrain so would be best suited for families with children who do not need to use a stroller.
While the resort has its own beachfront restaurant, promising spectacular sunsets when you dine in the evening, you also have easy access to the wide selection of cuisines that are served up in the nearby village. As with the local attractions, this is easily walked to though car rental can be sorted out through the resort if required.
Comfortable Living
With over 150 rooms available, you will definitely find the perfect place to spend your holiday. During the high season, the minimum required booking is for 5 nights. At this length, you can expect to pay between $160 and $200 per night for a family of four, sharing two double beds in a single room of your villa. For larger parties, adjoining rooms can be booked to ensure that your family stays close to one another. All rooms come with free Wi-Fi as standard, allowing you to connect to the hotel’s high speed internet, along with satellite TV, tea and coffee facilities, air conditioning and gorgeous views of the river.
It is difficult to see how any family could be disappointed with the Koh Chang. With its promises of relaxation, comfort and security, you will not need to worry about a thing as you take in the incredible views and soak up the remarkable local atmosphere.

White Sand Beach on Koh Chang is the longest that the island has to offer, stretching almost 2.5km along the cost. Here, where a beautiful turquoise sea meets the pristine sand, will you find the KC Grande Resort and Spa, an unforgettable destination that any family can enjoy.
Perfect For Young Families
As a small island getaway, the KC Grande has been designed with minimalism in mind. To this end, while the resort does welcome children, the hotel is set up to best accommodate families of three. While mum and dad share the double or king sized bed (depending on the room booked), your child can sleep on the extremely comfortable sofa bed, which easily converts between the two and for which bedding is provided. With subtle mosquito nets hung around your abode, you are protected no matter where you choose to sleep. Rooms for families of this size will cost around $250 per night during the high season, though this cost can often be significantly reduced if you book to stay for three or more nights.
Fun For Everyone
The resort contains four pools, including an infinity pool that can be found up on the rooftop though the most exciting one has to be the one that has its own slide which can be used between 10:00 and 19:00. The slide is nice and lengthy, promising a great deal of fun, huge splashes and some amazing photo opportunities. Younger children will be looked after in the Kids Club between 07:30 and 19:00 in a cosy room that is full of toys. As both the pool and the Club are supervised, you can leave your kids in perfect safety, while you make the most of the onsite spa, sauna and exercise facilities.

Hi. We are coming to Koh Chang for a wedding and will require the services of a baby sitter. Does anyone know of a baby sitting service on the island?
