Shared Minibus Services to Koh Chang

Minibus tickets to Koh Chang

How To Book Tickets for a Shared Minibus

Prices for shared minibus service from Bangkok, Pattaya or Trat Airport depend on your departure point and range from 600 Baht – 1,200 Baht / person including ferry ticket.

If you’re staying on the Southeast side of Koh Chang, you’ll need to take a private transfer as the shared minibus services don’t go to that part of the island.

Minibus Tickets between Trat Airport and Koh Chang

Tickets for seats on a shared minibus service are available between Trat Airport and hotels on Koh Chang, for people flying Bangkok – Trat or Trat – Bangkok on Bangkok Airways.

The official airport minibuses are operated by Krungthep Limousine.  Ticket prices for 2025 are below. Tickets can be booked in advance through their site or bought on arrival in Trat

A cheaper option is operated by Koh Chang Transport.  They run the same service but with a cheaper ticket price.  The sole differences being they do not have a base at Trat Airport and so passengers must book online to use their service.  It’s not possible to buy tickets on arrival at Trat.

Shared minibus to Koh Chang

Minibus Tickets between Bangkok and Koh Chang

There are various private companies in addition to public minibuses running services from hotels and bus stations in Bangkok to Koh Chang. The services from bus stations are cheaper, but less convenient for most travelers.

Boonsiri Ferry run a big bus that departs from Khao San road at 08:00 daily.  This is handy if you are staying in the area.  The bus gets to Ao Thammachat pier around 13:00.  And will also drop passengers off at Krom Lang pier (for speedboats to Koh Mak) and Laem Sok pier (for passenger boats to Koh Kood)   The return trip leaves Laem Sok around and also stops at the aforementioned piers before terminating at Khao San Rd central Bangkok around 21:30 – 22:00.

Figure on 800 – 1,000 Baht for a ticket on a shared minibus that includes pick up from a location in Bangkok and which will drop you off at your hotel on Koh Chang.  When you’re searching for tickets I’d avoid services run by tour agents which charge a very high mark-up for tickets from Ekkamai Bus Station to hotels on Koh Chang.  They charge over 1,000 Baht but are simply reselling a public bus ticket, ferry ticket plus the fare for public songtaew.  You can do yourself easily for half the cost.

Returning from Koh Chang to Bangkok minibuses can also drop passengers off at Suvarnabhumi Airport , Latkrabang Airport Link station, Victory Monument and Ekkamai or Morchit bus stations.

Please note that as of 2025 there are still fewer shared minibus services than there were prior to covid.

Minibus Tickets between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Koh Chang

It is possible to book tickets online for the shared minibuses from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) to Koh Chang.  Use the form below to check prices and book.  There are services at 06:00 and 11:00.

This service is run by the Suvarnabhumi Burapha bus company but is also known as the ‘392’ bus or the Lonely Beach Express.  It used to only run between the airport and Koh Chang but nowadays their services include pick up and drop off in central Bangkok.  Usually a 16 seat microbus will be used in stead of a van.  These have more legroom and space for luggage than the normal minivans.

Minibus Tickets between Pattaya or Jomtien and Koh Chang

The shared minibus from Pattaya to Koh Chang will pick up from hotels in Naklua, Pattaya and Jomtien beach. (And if you’re coming from Koh Chang to Pattaya it will also drop off in those areas.) Pick up from outlying beach locations as far south as Ambassador Hotel Najomtien is also possible on most services.

Again, please note that until tourists return to Thailand in significant numbers there will be reduced, or no services on certain minibus routes.  Public bus or private transfer may be your only option.

Minibus Tickets between Siem Reap and Koh Chang

Quite a few people combine a visit to the Angkor Wat temples with the beaches on Koh Chang.  It’s the best of both worlds and easy to do.

It isn’t possible to do this journey on the same bus or minibus.  You will always have to change the vehicle and driver at the border.  In addition you probably won’t find options for the shared minibus services on online booking sites.  You’ll have to buy tickets from a tour agent or your hotel when you are in Siem Reap or Koh Chang.

From Siem Reap to Koh Chang tickets are from $40 per person and from Koh Chang to Siem Reap expect to pay around 1,400 Baht for a ticket.  Transport is usually by minibus on the Thai side of the border and big bus on the Cambodian side.
