KC Grande Resort & Spa is one of the most popular resorts on the island. It’s also one of the largest. In total, there are over 200 rooms and villas.

The beachfront ‘Seaside’ hotel blocks house the ‘Seaview Deluxe’, ‘Deluxe Garden’ and ‘Grand Delux Sea View’ rooms in a three floor block set back from the huge lagoon pool.  The pool opens  directly onto the beach.   Another smaller beachfront pool is located about 100 metres north near the beach villas.

Although there are a lot of rooms, there’s also plenty of beachfront for kids to play on without getting under the feet of other guests. It’s an ideal resort for families or couples.

In early 2013 , two more hotel blocks opened  situated on the inland side of the main road.  These also have their own swimming pools – one being on the rooftop.  A very nice spot to sunbathe or have a drink at sunset.  It’s also usually quiet and with relatively few kids. In these blocks you’ll find the ‘Ocean View’, ‘Pool Access’ and ‘Pool View’ rooms.

By the beach, just north of the main pool is where you’ll find KC Grande’s ‘Paradise Villas‘.   If you want to splash out on a luxury beachfront bungalow then this is the place to book on Koh Chang.  There’s also another pool in this area of the resort.  (That’s four pools so far.)

Facilities include all the usual stuff you expect a 4 star resort to have e.g a kid’s club, beach massage, kayak and SUP hire and a poolside gym.

Buffet breakfast is at The Beach Restaurant – a large restaurant . .  right by the beach.   The rooms are all well away from the nearest loud bars, but just walk 2 minutes down the beach and you can have your pick of beachfront restaurants and bars at which to dine and down cocktails. The nearest 7-eleven is by the entrance of the resort.

Definitely recommended. But be aware this is a very large resort and during the busiest times of year, from Christmas until late February, it might be too full and crowded for some. It won’t be an ideal place to stay if peace and quiet are a prerequisite.

On the flip side, it’s on a great beach; there’s a good range of rooms to suit different budgets and with four pools you can usually find a place to escape from noisy kids.

If you can afford it, the beachfront ‘Paradise’ villas are among the best accommodation, in terms of location and amenities, that you’ll find on the island.  While the roadside rooms offer all the home comforts without paying a premium for being by the beach.

However, if White sand beach is too touristy for you or the resort too large, try smaller resorts such as The Chill or Gajapuri Resort both in Kai Bae.

Very good 😀 - The room is very nice. The breakfast is very good, tastes good and lots of options to choose from. 😞 - There are probably not enough housekeepers. The room was cleaned very slow. There are not enough of beach beds.

Excellent location on White Sands Beach. Definitely worth the money! 😀 - Excellent breakfast. Excellent location right on White Sands Beach. A few lovely pools to choose from. Tasty food. A 7/11 next door. 😞 - The rooms could be cleaner - our bedroom floor needed a good scrub or mop. Only 2 staff members could speak decent English - one being the door man, he was very friendly and caring.

Very comfortable hotel on a beautiful beach 😀 - The hotel is a rather big one and even at the end of April it was still pretty busy. I had one of the garden villas, which are set a bit aside. The interior of the villa was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. I loved the bed. The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. You can go into the water easily even during low tide. The breakfast was really nice. Generally the food in the Beach Restaurant was very good. I enjoyed every meal I had there. All of the staff I encountered were courteous and exceedingly friendly. 😞 - None

Second time, and I would go there again 😀 - - Great pools, next to the sea and at the rooftop, both with pool bars (Chang Beer S 110 THB/L 160 THB; Mojito 240 THB, Pina Colada 280 THB; fruit shakes 140 THB, mocktails 150 THB, selection of signature cocktails; small menue, but more food from the restaurant can be ordered at the pool) - Great location (beautiful beach in front of the hotel, great beach bars - i.a. Chang Bar - nearby, with less expensive food and drinks) - Everybody is very nice and friendly - one of the best breakfasts I had in Thailand (noodle soup, thai dishes, egg benedict Tom Yam style, various breads, cakes, biscuits and donuts, dim sum, fresh fruits including mango etc.) 😞 - - Air-condition in the villa was not strong enough. Although I usually prefer a reasonable temperature like 23 degrees, it ran at 18 degrees, and it was still too warm (but acceptable). I told them at check-out, and they told me that a technician would check it (maybe I should have told them earlier) - The kids' room is very small and sparsely equipped.
