Just happened to be out on the scooter the other day and wandered down to the southeast of the island. The main thing I wanted to see was how they were getting on rebuilding the walkway through the mangroves in Salakphet Bay. The old walkway with wooden boards had become unsafe last year and it was entirely rebuilt, plus an additional section is now being added to take it easy to return to the starting point by a different route (for people who don’t want to walk too far). The walkway ends at the head of the bay. I was there at very low tide, loads of crabs to be seen plus a flock of herons out on the mud flats. As wasn’t in a hurry I stopped off at Klong Nonsi waterfall on the way to see if it had any water in it – it didn’t and took a few pics around Salakaphet Bay area. Nice way to spend the day – just pottering around on the scooter seeing a bit of local life.
