At the very north of Kai Bae beach is a rocky headland that separates it from Klong Prao, or for the pedantic – Map Kang Kao ( the small bay just south of Klong Prao beach proper). The beach at the far northern end of Kai Bae, outside Cliff beach Resort and Chang Park is pretty nice – probably the best sand in the Kai Bae area and is kept spotless by resort staff.
Further south you’ll find the run down budget huts at Siam Cottage, then the plush boutique bungalows at Gajapuri Resort, which are hidden from view, and the brilliant white The Chill with it’s pool stretching from the beach to reception. Adjacent to The Chill is a camp site with a few small huts for rent and then in the centre of Kai Bae is Coral Resort, a great location the resort is built on a man made mini peninsula jutting out into the sea. The longer & busier southern stretch of the beach then begins – photos of this are in the next gallery.
Whilst this 400 metre long beach looks nice enough, swimming isn’t so easy, especially at low tide, as the water is shallow and the sea bed is covered with rocks and coral – some living, most dead.
