If you are going to stay here go for the newest rooms, ‘Cliff View’ which are by far the best. Others have better views or are more suited for families but are pretty old and fading quickly. But note the word ‘Cliff’, this indicates that you will be trudging up several flights of steep steps in order to get between your room and the beach. You need to take care if you have been out of a few beers. And obviously they aren’t ideal for older folks or young kids.
The highlights of the resort are the beach, which is great and the clifftop pool which, due to it’s location, rarely gets busy and has excellent views to the nearby islands.
And if you want to splash out then the Sea View Villas are well worth considering – spacious, bright & airy and with amazing views.
Nearer the beach are the family rooms which are in a garden area with a natural lotus filled lagoon. A small children’s pool is also here, close to the beach restaurant. Cliff Beach Resort also has some Budget rooms. These are located in what was built as a shopping plaza on the opposite side of the main road. Most shops have long since closed and the resort has renovated some buildings to add guest rooms. Obviously no sea views.
The beach is good and there are plenty of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Only downside is the price, you could do better for the same amount, and despite claims – you couldn’t really call it a 4 star overall. So, Cliff Beach Resort is an OK back-up resort if your first choices are full.
This was probably very nice resort once 😀 - - Staff was very nice and polite. - Room itself, linen and towels were clean. - Private pool room looks upmarket and large bed is very comfortable. 😞 - - Resort is quite run down and the staff seems to be having hard time keeping it afloat despite their efforts. - Resort was originally bigger, but is now split in half by neglected pond overgrown with vegetation, which just serves as breeding ground for HUGE amount of mosquitoes. We put out several incenses to keep them away, but it was still hard to sit outside without getting bitten all over. - Private pool in the room isn't getting cleaned very much and there seems to be no water quality control, considering the mold/algae growing between the tiles. That may be fine for more resilient guests, but not so much for westerners. None of the jets work any more either. You should note that the pool is quite deep and not suitable for unsupervised children, if that was your plan. - As there weren't too many customers, the resort opted to serve very limited ala carte breakfast. - Moss is growing on all walkways, making them slippery. - LOUD NOISE from Karaoke bar opposite the resort daily until 2AM. - Rocks just beyond the beach making it not so easy to go for a swim. - Debris right by the beach benches that has likely been there for a while.

First time coming to Koh Chang and highly recommend. Stunning island. This hotel was exceptionally . 😀 - The location is superb. We upgraded to sea view for very little extra. Well worth it! Private beach too 😞 - It is quite dated and mostly structured by wood. Seems no renovation since initially built. Not really a dislike just a point as you can see wood falling apart

😀 - Clean bedding Good breakfast 😞 - Very dirty showroom on arrival in both our rooms. Mould on tiles... Generally poor Ac was smelly in 1 room. And hard to operate

Perfect location, the facilities need a big update 😀 - Nice location with direct access to the beach and plenty of restaurants and bars. 😞 - The room needs a big update. We were in the deluxe room ocean view, there is plenty of stairs to go to the breakfast area or to the beach. We have a small child in the stroller, so it was particularly comfortable. The pillows on the beach chairs were very worn out and moldy.

Refres this nice place please. L9 😀 - Location , beach , really nice place. Room with a private swimming pool is actually why I gave quite a high score. 😞 - The hotel is not in very good shape. What is really sad. How much money and time takes to refresh this nice place, clean everything properly inside and outside. Paint all inside and outside, these are quite cheap changes which can increase the quality of this place.
