Although more people are looking to take yoga classes during their holiday on Koh Chang, there are comparatively few places where you can study.  (Unlike some islands in the south of Thailand which are overrun with wannabe yogis.)  

Yoga is one of the best way to preserve a healthy and youthful body.   Asanas (postures) keep the body flexible and alive while meditation and Pranayama (yogic breathing) keep your mind intact. It’s basically a natural way to manage your mood and calm your mind. More than a therapy, yoga is a philosophy of life.

Blue Moon Yoga Koh Chang

Blue Moon is a new yoga school located by the sea at Cliff Beach Resort, Kai Bae. They have also recently announced their yoga class schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 high season. 

All classes are suitable for beginners, and Samira, the instructor, is happy to provide challenging adaptions for more experienced Yogis. Class price is 350 Baht.  All classes are 1 hour in duration. Private classes are also available upon request. Yoga mats and props are provided. 

There are two classes per day at 09:30 and 16:00.  Classes include Ashtanga, Yin Yoga, Vinyasa, Hatha and Mobility. Check their Facebook page for more information and class schedules :


* Baan Zen was the main location on Koh Chang for private yoga classes.  However, that closed in 2014 although you will still see it mentioned in out of date guidebooks and old web pages.

** Aire Cafe also used to run yoga classes in 2017 – 18, but they too have stopped. 

*** Following coronavirus, I’m not sure which of the yoga classes listed below will resume in 2022 – 23.  That will probably depend on visitor numbers to the island.

BB Gym, Lonely Beach

If you happen to be around Lonely beach, then check out the daily yoga classes at BB Gym,  located by the roadside in the main nightlife / bar area.  Classes are held on the upper floor of their building.  The ground floor is full of weights machines and exercise equipment, the upper floor, which just has a covered roof and no walls, is where yoga, and other group classes are held.

BB Yoga offers two yoga classes a day.  One  at 10am and the other at 6.30pm. Classes run every week, Monday – Saturday.  Additionally, yoga classes are also often run at their beach restaurant ‘BB Beach’ located on Klong Kloi beach, near Bangbao.

The classes are suitable for all abilities, from beginners to advanced.  The experienced teachers will show how to modify modify each pose and position to suit your personal needs and level of ability.

As a bonus, after the yoga session, participants are  welcome to cool off in the swimming pool at no extra charge.  There are also hot shower facilities, lockers and changing rooms on site.  And if you need to refuel after rigorous stretching, protein shakes, energy drinks and a varied menu are all available in the on-site restaurant.

Om Bless Yoga, White Sand beach

A new yoga studio, opened in late 2018, conveniently located opposite Koh Chang Lagoon Resort in the centre of White Sand beach.  Hatha & Ashtanga yoga classes are usually held twice daily in the morning and late afternoon.  However, the schedule is fluid and depends on demand.  Plus the instructors, Patrick and Sopa also offer impromptu classes or private lessons.

Eka Bhumi Yoga Vinyasa , White Sand beach, Koh Chang

Eka Bhumi Yoga is now running daily hatha vinyasa yoga classes at  DuTalay Hotel, near the southern end of White Sand Beach.  This rooftop location boasts stunning views of the ocean and the sunset. At the moment, evening classes are from 18:00 – 19:00.  Class schedules will vary during the year depending on sunset time. 


Blue Lagoon bungalows, Klong Prao

And it’s also worth asking at Blue Lagoon bungalows on Klong Prao beach.  They run the yoga classes daily from November to April.  

If you don’t want to travel all the way to Lonely beach then this might be a better option.  Blue Lagoon in located at the south end of Klong Prao beach.  just a couple of minutes walk from the main road. very convenient location and a haven of peace and quiet – making it an the ideal place to practice yoga.

Classes are usually held at sunrise ( 8am ) and sunset ( 4:30-5pm ) daily during High Season. Prices are 300 Baht per class. They also have packages for long term stay such as five sessions for 250 Baht per class, 10 sessions for 200 Baht per class. Yoga classes last around 75– 90 minutes and include yoga mat.

Marina Sands Resort

If you are staying at Siam Royal View or in the Klong Son area, Marina Sands Resort holds yoga classes a couple of times a week.  During the 2018-19 High Season this is on Monday and Tuesday.  No useful information online, so contact them by phone or via their Facebook for details: 

Emerald Cove Resort, Klong Prao

During high season, yoga classes are available at the resort.  These take place on a shady, sandy area by the sea.  Check with the resort for schedules and prices.

Beach Jungle Hostel, Lonely beach

If you’re staying in Lonely beach then another option if the BB Gym classes are full or not running for some reason is close by.  Beach Jungle is a stone’s throe from BB Gym.  They have also run yoga classes in the past.  Again, you’ll need to check their Facebook page for details.

The Spa Koh Chang

The Spa Koh Chang is located in the south-east of the island and so is more suited for visitors wanting to make stay in the resort and make yoga a part of their daily routine or anyone at resorts on the east of the island.  The resort has a large Yoga Sala for up to 30 members.   it is surrounded by a peaceful environment which makes it ideal for both meditation, emotional healing and yoga.  A combination that greatly assists anyone looking for inner peace.  

The morning meditation and Yoga sessions run from 08:00 – 10:00 daily, 6 days a week.  The cost is 400 Baht per class.

Yoga retreats for a week or 14 days are also available. Everything is built around relaxation and enjoyment. You can meditate, begin or improve your yoga and eat healthily all day in the award winning vegan restaurant. An all-inclusive yoga retreat allows you to fully enjoy your vacation in every aspect.

Programs include daily meditation, private and group yoga classes, plus steam baths and use of herbal sauna.  Free time can be spent cycling, swimming, kayaking or enjoying the peace, quiet and jungle clad mountain scenery.
