Koh Yuak in the October Sunshine

Koh Yuak , Koh Chang

We’re still in the rainy season but all the photos on this page were taken today – in the brilliant sunshine. Yesterday the sea was pretty rough & murky, there were grey skies and intermittent showers throughout the day. Today, the sun was shining, the sea was calm and it was time to go for a paddle.

I went from Klong Prao beach out to the furthest island, Koh Yuak.   Been here quite a few times and the early days of the High Season are often the best time to visit as you usually get the island you yourself.   No noise at all, rarely any people and no garbage left behind by snorkelling trips. The sea is much clearer here than off Koh Chang and you also get quite a few fish which circle you in the hope of food.

The island was actually pretty busy as two Russian couples had also paddled out from Kai Bae.   One of which had decided to paddle out after reading about taking a kayak out to these islands on this website when they were planning their holiday a few months ago.   So we had   a chat, I took some photos and then I headed back.

So a few photos of what you can expect if you make the effort to visit.
