The first thing to note is that Changburi Resort & Spa is basically two totally different resorts. Changburi Hillside and Changburi Resort. In the past they operated under separate names but are now advertised as being the same resort. Which is odd, as the seafront resort is infinitely nicer than the inland hotel block.

Down by the beach you have accommodation in luxury villas, some with private plunge pools. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very stylish. Adjacent to this is a large pool, deck area and at the rear of the property are the hotel rooms. The more basic, less well maintained Hillside block is on the opposite side of the main road. It’s still clean and has friendly staff but is a bit worn around the edges.
If your priorities lie with firstly getting a very good room and the beach is secondary then the villas are a excellent option. But you probably won’t be going in the sea very often. The ‘beach’ at this far southern end of White Sand beach is rocky with very little sand. You’ll need to walk 5 minutes north to find a nicer stretch of sand
The resort offers comfort and privacy, which is rare on White Sand beach . So if you want to stay in luxury on the busiest beach on Koh Chang but like to be just a few minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle, then this is a good choice.
Also worth noting that there is a small beer bar area – Little Pattaya – very close to the resort. This can get a bit noisy in High Season, you’ll notice some comments about this in reviews.
Superb 😀 - It's already my 3rd visit in this hotel. Very good breakfast, comfortable beds, big and quiet rooms.
3rd time I’ve stayed here and I will come again 😀 - Location and pool makes it 10 for me 😞 - Breakfast because not many in hotel at 1st but as more people arrived they put on a proper breakfast !
Great hotel if you want swimming pools short walk to the beach. Comfy rooms and great staff. 😀 - Comfortable rooms, great pools throughout the complex, we booked two poolside rooms with connecting balcony, was perfect, kids swam right outside the door and pool is fresh water, very nice. Great views down the beach and when the tide is out you can walk along the beach to all the bars and restaurants without going along the road. 😞 - The tiles around the pool and on the walkways are very slippery when wet, extreme caution and no running. Towels could be refreshed with new ones. But everything was lovely.
Superb 😀 - Everything. A beautiful property, wonderful pool, lovely staff, comfortable room. Stunning at night with the huge uplit trees and watching the sunset over the ocean. Will be returning.
2nd stay not as good. Opt for a hillside room! 😀 - Location and pool. 😞 - The room was dated and well in need of an upgrade. No privacy for the bathroom area and the shower would run hot and cold. I actually paid a lot more for this room than when I stayed previously in the hillside rooms and this was not worth the extra money, the hillside rooms are bigger with a bigger balcony and more modern decor and fixtures. The breakfast spread was diminishing daily, I understand there are less guests but I am still a paying customer.
An aging hotel, but great value for money and great location. Basically two seperate hotels divided by main road so be k 😀 - One the nicer hotels on the island in that price range. Close to everything needed. Good value for money 😞 - I’d rather old and starting to show age in some areas. Could do more to try and keep mosquitoes away near doors to rooms and on porches.
