White Sand Beach

Changburi Resort & Spa

Changburi Resort & Spa,White Sand beach, Koh Chang

The first thing to note is that Changburi Resort & Spa is basically two totally different resorts.  Changburi Hillside and Changburi Resort.  In the past they operated under separate names but are now advertised as being the same resort.  Which is odd, as the seafront resort is infinitely nicer than the inland hotel block.

Down by the beach you have accommodation in luxury villas, some with private plunge pools.  The rooms are spotlessly clean and very stylish. Adjacent to this is a large pool, deck area and at the rear of the property are the hotel rooms. The more basic, less well maintained Hillside block is on the opposite side of the main road.  It’s still clean and has friendly staff but is a bit worn around the edges.

Poolside Villas at Changburi Resort & Spa

If your priorities lie with firstly getting a very good room and the beach is secondary then the villas are a excellent option.   But you probably won’t be going in the sea very often.   The ‘beach’ at this far southern end of White Sand beach is rocky with very little sand.  You’ll need to walk 5 minutes north to find a nicer stretch of sand

The resort offers comfort and privacy, which is rare on White Sand beach . So if you want to stay in luxury on the busiest beach on Koh Chang but like to be just a few minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle, then this is a good choice.

Also worth noting that there is a small beer bar area – Little Pattaya – very close to the resort.  This can get a bit noisy in High Season, you’ll notice some comments about this in reviews.

Thanks. Loved it there. 😀 - The swimming pool is incredible. Overlooking the sea too. 😞 - The trees dropped a lot of debris, but the staff were on top of it.

😞 - I did not like that the electric tripped at night and we could not find anyone in reception or by calling the main lines or reception. it took hours to get it back on and the room was baking hot and pitch black. then after it was sorted, blaming us for using to much electricity. just because we had electrical devices in the room doesn't mean they were all plugged in. they was not, we had 2 phones on charge. actually we had one on charge and then I went to put the other one on and it went bang. not my fault. this annoyed me. also the food at breakfast was very bad quality. the bread was so stale it just cracked apart. the whole buffet was not quality standard.

The best places to stay on Koh Chang

  • We stayed on the beach-side hotel. We stayed for 2 nights before moving to Kacha Hotel up the road. Loved every minute of our stay and wish we hadn’t moved!

Although you cannot walk straight onto the beach the hotels pool is absilutely beautiful with amazing view, good spot for sunbathing and watching the sun go down. Very clean everywhere, staff are all exceptionally friendly but not pretencious and extremely helpful. The room was really lovely and stylish. Housekeeping did a good job of little finishing touches -much appreciated.

    Overall, very peaceful and classy.
