Santhiya Tree Koh Chang Resort is located in the centre of Klong Prao beach. This is one of the quietest areas of beach on the west coast. Even in high season you will only see a couple of dozen people out on the sand. Just one of the reasons this is one of the best resorts on Koh Chang.

There are no pushy beach vendors and no rows of deckchairs on the sand. Just a couple of small beach massage places, a couple of low key restaurants and couple of laid back backpacker bungalow huts nearby, where you can also get sensibly priced food and drinks.
It’s a good spot to get away from it all. The negatives are that the design of the resort maybe a bit too over the top ‘mock temple’ for some. And that the quiet location means that it is 15 minutes walk to the village and nearest 7-eleven.
Figure on a 15 minute walk to the main road. However, the hotel does have a free shuttle service but this doesn’t run all day, only at selected times. And finally, the room rates are amongst the highest on the island.
The villas near the beach all have either pool access or a private pool. This is in addition to the large beachfront pool. This pool can get busy during the high season, so if you want some privacy the pool villas might be worth splashing out on.
In 2018 Santhiya Tree Resort opened a new riverside hotel block. This is a towering four floor structure that is clad in teak wood – giving the appearance of a wooden palace. Despite the size there are only an additional 28 rooms. However each room, also decked in teak from floor to ceiling, has a private plunge pool with sunrise view of the jungle. On the ground floor is a 40 metre long lap pool and restaurant.
Highly recommended if you enjoy a bit of luxury. But if it’s too remote try The Dewa or Emerald Cove at the busier southern end of Klong Prao beach.

Amazing 😀 - Amazing room with private pool. The hotel is wooden heaven with amazing view on the river 😞 - In comparison with other hotel on Koh Chang, staff is less attentive

Exotic feel, private pool bliss 😀 - Unique decor and cosy exotic feeling. Awesome private pool, great for indulging a good moment solo or as a couple. 😞 - Breakfast was terrible and not at all in line with the property. Staff was hit and miss, some quite good others left a lot to be desired.

Paradise. 😀 - I loved everything about this property, the grounds are amazing! So well maintained and you feel at one with nature. Room was so big and comfortable and having our own private pool was a nice touch. The rooms are all made of natural wood and it just adds to the rustic vibe of the hotel. This has been my favourite hotel to stay in ever. It’s so beautiful. Food at the hotel is delicious too! And the surroundings are so lush with greenery and you can dine right at the beach! And the view in the breakfast restaurant is perfect it looks over the lake and the mountains. Staff are so polite and go above and beyond! I even booked the wrong boat and they made sure they changed it for us. Staff are so welcoming and are a credit to the hotel, we were always greeted with a smile and their generosity was fantastic. It made our first trip to Koh Chang perfect. I am writing this as I sat in reception waiting to leave. I feel sad because I would happily stay another week! Book this hotel you won’t be disappointed. 😞 - Nothing, everything was perfect.

We will come again soon :-) 😀 - Great place to relax and spend time for two. Very friendly and supportive team. Breakfast and diner was offered with a big selection and quality. The area of the hotel was very clean and shows always new surprises. A good place to start excursions and individual discovery of the island. The weekly diner buffet was amazing. In both directions of the area you have great views. Sea view, river view… 😞 - I had an accident with a scooter. Please check you r insurance before, A or A1 Drivers license and to have the International Driver license as Translated version. (But this has nothing to do with the hotel)
