15 Palms Beach Resort – Full Review

Overview

15 Palms is a boutique-feeling beachfront resort on the quieter northern end of White Sand Beach. It’s smaller and more intimate than the big resorts, with modern rooms, a well-run restaurant and bar, and a laid-back holiday atmosphere. Think “stylish seaside base” rather than “family waterpark”.

If you want a big choice of pools and activities for the kids, this isn’t your best bet. But if you’re after a comfortable, good-looking place right on the sand with decent food and a relaxed vibe, 15 Palms hits the spot.

Location – Quieter End of White Sand Beach

The resort sits right on the sand at the north end of White Sand Beach, a short walk along the shore or road from the main cluster of shops and bars. The sand here is wide and clean, and the sea is usually swimmable in high season.

You’re close enough to walk to other restaurants and minimarts, but far enough from the central strip that late-night noise is dialled down considerably. It’s a good compromise if you want to stay on White Sand but don’t fancy sleeping above the beer bars.

Atmosphere

15 Palms is relaxed and low-key. With fewer rooms than the big resorts, it rarely feels crowded. The beachfront deck and restaurant are the social hubs: people drifting between sunbeds, bar stools and tables as the day goes on.

The overall mood is more grown-up than family-chaos. With couples, small groups of friends and longer-stay guests. Staff and owners are usually around and get positive comments for being friendly and attentive without hovering.

Rooms

Rooms are one of the main reasons to book here. They’re modern, clean and simply but tastefully styled. A pleasant change to tired beach bungalows.

  • Comfortable beds and proper bedding
  • Good air-con and blackout curtains
  • Flat-screen TV, fridge, kettle and safe
  • Modern bathrooms with walk-in showers

Many rooms look towards the beach or pool area, though the exact view depends on category and location. It’s worth paying attention when you book, as lower-category rooms may be set slightly back. Overall, though, you’re getting a higher standard of room than many similarly priced properties on White Sand.

Facilities

This is where 15 Palms leans more “boutique” than “resort”:

  • Small pool behind the restaurant, handy ideal for cooling off, not for running the kids ragged
  • Beachfront restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating
  • Sunbeds and seating on the sand directly in front of the resort

There’s no gym, spa, kids’ club or array of different pools. The idea is that the beach is your main playground, with a comfortable base to come back to.

The Beach

You’re right on one of the better bits of White Sand Beach: soft sand, good swimming when the sea is calm, and enough space to walk, sunbathe and watch the sunset without feeling packed in.

Because you’re slightly away from the middle section, it’s generally quieter and more relaxed, especially in the evening. You still get beach restaurants and bars nearby, but you can retreat to your own loungers when you’ve had enough.

How It Compares to Other White Sand Beach Resorts

  • KC Grande: Much larger, with multiple pools, kids’ facilities and a busier atmosphere. Better for families wanting a full resort, but less intimate.
  • The Erawan: Modern hotel just off the road with a rooftop pool. Cheaper and more “hotel-like”, but not directly on the sand.
  • Kacha Resort: Bigger and livelier, with more pools and mixed-quality rooms. 15 Palms is smaller, calmer and generally more stylish.

If you want boutique scale and beachfront comfort on White Sand, 15 Palms is one of the more attractive options.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Excellent beachfront position on a quieter stretch of White Sand
  • Modern, comfortable rooms
  • Good on-site restaurant and bar right by the sand
  • Relaxed atmosphere that suits couples and older families

Cons

  • Small pool and limited facilities compared to big resorts
  • Not ideal for kids who need lots of activities
  • Prices reflect the boutique beachfront setting

Who Should Stay Here?

Perfect for:

  • Couples wanting a stylish, comfortable beachfront base
  • Solo travellers and digital nomads looking for a civilised place to stay and work
  • Smaller families with older kids who don’t need constant entertainment

Not ideal for:

  • Families with young children who need big pools and kids’ clubs
  • Travellers on a tight budget
  • People who want lots of on-site facilities and organised activities

Value for Money

15 Palms isn’t the cheapest option on White Sand Beach, but you are paying for a very good location and a noticeably higher standard of room and atmosphere than many neighbours. If you’re going to spend a lot of time on the beach and at the restaurant/bar, it justifies the nightly rate.

Final Thoughts

15 Palms is a great choice if you want to stay on White Sand Beach but don’t fancy a massive resort. It offers a comfortable, modern place to sleep; a good restaurant and bar; and direct access to one of the nicest bits of sand on the island.

If your ideal holiday is beach, books, good food and a few drinks at sunset rather than activities from dawn till dusk, you’ll feel very at home here.
