Cookies is in a prime spot in the centre of White Sand beach. An ideal place to survey the madness around you.
As with many resorts it began life as dull concrete beach bungalows, but a new hotel block was added on the inland side of the road and in 2007 the old beachfront bungalows were replaced with a free-form pool and hotel rooms literally 20 metres from the sea. Then in 2014 it was all painted pink. Bright Barbie pink. Still, I guess it makes it easy to spot when you are staggering home after a night out.
Not luxurious by any means but pretty good value for this area. No real need to pay a premium for being by the pool and restaurant area, when you can get a Standard room with large balcony for far less and even the laziest person should be able to manage to walk 30 metres to the beach in the morning.
Rooms have everything you need and the new beachfront bar and restaurant ‘Sun n’ Soul’ serves up some surprisingly well presented Thai and fusion food plus inexpensive cocktails. Sit here and watch the fire shows from Sabay Bar next door.
Not for anyone wanting an early night or who enjoys sitting outside with a good book in peace and quiet, but if you want to spend your days commuting between beach, pool, bar and your room then well worth considering.

My wife and I booked our room here for our honeymoon. The room we booked belonged to the deluxe category. It had a beautiful view, overlooking the beach. We loved our stay there. It was based on the second floor and the height of those two stories allowed the cool sea breeze to ventilate our room.
Each morning my wife used to open the curtains early in the morning and the sunrays shining through the window made me get out of bed. Rising to such a wonderful sight instantly put me in a good mood. We stayed at the Cookies Hotel Koh Chang for a week and four days and enjoyed every day there.
The restaurant at the Cookies Hotel served the best traditional and Italian cuisine. Their Alfredo pasta with white sauce and extra cheese was excellent. They even served us complimentary drinks at the time of checking in and checking out, which tasted divine as well. The overall restaurant rating would be a 8/10 because they did not serve beverages late night.
Another spectacular feature that my wife and I enjoyed a lot was their Jacuzzi. It was right next to their public swimming pool but it was fully operational and the water was very clean. The swimming pool facility was also very good.
The staff was always on their toes near the swimming pool area. The lifeguard kept an eye out for any kids younger than the age of ten, coming near the big swimming pool. The towels were being handed out to everyone who hailed for one.
The sanitary facilities were absolutely the best thing there was. We had decided beforehand that if their drainage did not work or if anything was wrong with the sanitary system, we would not stay there. The cleaning staff came in once a day to clean the entire room as well as the bathroom.
The last thing I would like to talk about is the easy access that this hotel provides to the beach. One could spend as many hours of the day by the water and get a nice tan in the meantime. The staff cooperated with us and helped us bring our things out to the beach. They even let us borrow some of their glasses to enjoy cold drinks at the beach. My wife and I enjoyed the beautiful sunset each day, either from the beach or from our balcony. Either way it made the stay at Cookies Hotel Koh Change all the more special.
