Siam Beach Resort occupies the prime, private location at the northern end of Lonely Beach on Koh Chang. The location, about 400 metres north from the nearest resort ensures that guests enjoy peace and quiet. However you are paying for the location rather than quality of resort.
(This score is based on the number of written reviews on Booking.com since 1 November 2018. Because recent reviews are more relevant than those from many years ago.)
Although there is plenty of late night bars and restaurants at the backpacker area at the southern end of the beach, most guests come here to unwind, laze on the beach and swim in the sea rather than to party. It is therefore very popular with families and guests of all ages.
All rooms have AC, western bathroom, cable TV an are furnished in a bright contemporary tropical style. Plus all have sea views. Between the low rise hotel blocks and the beach lies the swimming pool with large jacuzzi and sun deck.
However, pride of place at Siam Beach Resort goes to the handful of pool villas where you can literally step out of your room and onto the beach or enjoy a soak in the private plunge pool as you watch the sun go down. These are some of the best value pool villas on the island.
Despite some maintenance issues and rogue monkeys that like to steal food or belongings from balconies, it is a good all round 3 star resort for a mid-price family holiday. But as with many other decade old resorts, it is looking a bit tired in places and despite the staff being friendly, many guests have issues with rooms not being cleaned properly or staff not being as efficient as in other resorts.
Good 😀 - Great location. It's the best beach on Koh Chang. The room was spacious. Breakfast was excellent. 😞 - This hotel's best days are behind it. But what is needed the most is a man with a bucket of paint and a brush. They started renovation so it seems that it will be better soon. There aren't any lawn chairs. You sit on sand or bring your own chairs. It's a shame. There are aggressive monkeys visiting the resort even trying to get into rooms. Staff is fighting those monkeys with sticks and airguns which raises some excitement among guests.
Exceptional 😀 - It was our second visit and it was great. Everything was on top like 1st time. Food was very delicious, specially fried fish. Staff is extremally friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place to pet owners. 😞 - The major issue of this place are macaques (monkeys). Males are aggressive. Keep the doors and windows locked and watch your belongings. Do not leave your pets unattended.
Good but disappointing 😀 - Quiet and staff were helpful and friendly. Swimming pool was nice and food was very good and we had dinner there most nights. Breakfast was good too 😞 - Part of the resort was looking old. We booked it as the photos on booking.com were wonderful are looked new but in reality photos must of been years ago. We got moved into the other side of the resort where the room were lovely
Superb 😀 - Great dog friendly place, delicious food, nice beach, excellent service and very helpful staff. We will visit again for sure. 😞 - Monkeys (macaques) can be aggressive, specially male ones. You should be very cautious, do not leave food, personal belongings, and garbage outside. Also keep the doors and windows closed at all time.
Very good 😀 - Very good stay. From bed into the ocean in 30 seconds. The room we stayed in needed some work but they are doing full maintenance on all their rooms. There is no hinder of sound. The room is large. Bathroom is reasonably. Extended total till 4 nights as the space was pleasant to stay at. Restaurant food is good. Breakdown above expectations when there's a buffet. All in all a wonderful stay.
amazing calm chilling at the most beautifull beach of the island 😀 - beach is incredible, food is delicious and all the stuff is frienly and helpfull 😞 - i love this hotel since 2015. Its getting pretty well through difficulties of covid times. they constantly work on renovating and really care their customer's needs
