There are 96 rooms at Koh Chang Paradie Hill Resort but thankfully only two choices of room types. Deluxe Pool View or Deluxe Garden View. Both are available with either a Double bed or two Single beds. The pool view rooms are priced slightly higher. As far as everything else goes they are identical.
The rooms are built in four, three floor low rise hotel blocks. These are stark and rather boring concrete blocks. There’s no attempt to blend in with the natural surroundings.
Inside the rooms decor is minimal. with bare concrete floors and just the essentials for furniture. It’s a bit drab, but thankfully there are colourful cushions and a bright bed runner to liven it up a bit. The bathrooms are also a bit drab. They’re modern and clean but nothing you will want to post on Instagram.
As most guests tend to head to the beach, the pool area is often quiet. There are two pools, one which is ideal for swimming laps and another which is shallow and therefore a great place for young kids to splash around and cool off. Adjacent is a pool bar which serves a range of soft drinks, cocktails and beers.
Koh Chang Paradise Hill is a good resort, no doubt about that, but to me it just seems a bit boring design-wise. But it’s a safe choice for visitors. There won’t be any unexpected surprises. It’s new, clean and comfortable. The location is good – just one minute walk to the beach. Everything you need is within 5 minutes walk – pharmacy, bank, supermarket and good choice of small shops and restaurants.
Definitely recommended if you’re just confused by choice. The basics are all done well, but there’s not a standout feature.
Alternatively, for example if you prefer smaller hotels, then the nearby Bhu Tarn Resort is worth checking out. Or if you want a smaller resort of the same standard but in a busier area then The Erawan on White Sand beach is a popular choice which also gets great reviews.
Nice for families and overall good 😀 - Excellent friendly customer service, rooms are generally clean. Across the road from a nice beach. The mini waterpark is ideal for kids and this is one reason to stay here. Breakfast is good but having some pancakes would make it better especially for kids. 😞 - Doors are very cheap quality (not solid wood) and the walls are thin so noise is a big problem. You can hear everything in the corridors and from neighbours. The hotel feels a bit cold and gray in terms of decor. Maybe add some plants and decorations in the corridors to make it feel less like a concrete block and to reduce the sound. Bathroom smelled of urine, cleaning could be better. Price could be lower for what you get.
Superb 😀 - Great spacious clean room. Really good breakfast buffet. Perfect service. Beautiful beach bar. 😞 - It is getting full on weekends.
Good 😀 - The hotel was really nice and both swimming pools were clean and nice and the thai staff were really amazing and understanding especially the Security guy he was really nice and welcoming. 😞 - I have one question for the hotel does the hill side and beach side got different Managers? Because the thaistaff told me i can sit in the beach side on the pool chair but for some reason a non thai staff goes by the name Alex told me i can't sit on one of the pool chairs because one of the hotel guests were reporting me for the color of my towel and Alex told me to move or change chairs and why is that? i felt like i did nothing wrong i was just sitting and chilling btw the first day No one said anything this happend on the second day. I was going to stay few more days but i left because of this accident. I felt like Alex and the guests that were reporting me were racially motivated.
Superb 😀 - The water park was excellent. I liked also two large pools in the garden of resort. A wide selection of food and drinks at breakfast. The staff was very attentive.
an ok stay 😀 - the new room 😞 - staff quite rude of not letting us fill up our water bottle at breakfast
Superb 😀 - Great beach and front-side facilities. Nice pools. Excellent waterpark which where more fun and challenging than they look 😁 it's not just for kids. Clean facilities and rooms, super friendly staff, motorbike for rent at normal prices. Great price too all considering. We had a great time. Also visit the Malibu bar just around the corner. It's a bit hidden away behind the coffee shop, surrounded by massage salons, but a very charming decorated place to sit and have a drink with super friendly owners who are happy to have a chat with you. 😞 - As you may expect from a place like this not the cheapest prices in the bar/restaurant. Also ordering a taxi comes with a premium vs just stopping one at the road. Can be expected, just something to consider. It's a great location for the beach, but not much to do here compared to white sand or Kai Bae. So a motorbike is recommended.
