Gajapuri Resort & Spa is a boutique designer hut resort for people seeking luxury but in teak wood, rather than concrete, surroundings. It is very nicely done and is a good alternative to an impersonal, generic 4 star resort. No obvious downsides as far as the standards of accommodation go.

The staff also seem to be on the ball, efficient and speak good English. and get rave reviews for their service minded attitude. Likewise the breakfast is great with the emphasis on healthy eating. The location is also very convenient with plenty of places to eat and drink within 5 minutes walk of the resort.
Accommodation is divided into two areas, one which is for adults only and the other which is family friendly. Both areas have their own pools. The ‘Lanai’ type rooms you’ll see listed on booking sites are those which don’t allow any kids to stay. Meaning that you can relax, read a book etc without any noise from neighboring rooms.
In addition to the teak villa sand pool villas, there are also some beachfront tents. These 100sqm, luxury tented villas would be a great choice for couples who enjoy staying in somewhere a little out of the ordinary.
The only negative would be that the beach isn’t great, it is narrow and the trees on the shoreline, whilst keeping the resort private, also block the views – so no real point in paying for a sea view room and you can’t easily sunbathe on the beach. You’ll just have to make do with the more private sun loungers in the garden area adjacent to the beach or by the pool or just just chill out in the privacy of your pool villa. Tough life. :-)
Superb 😀 - Loved everything! The hotel is beautful, the environment is very peaceful. The staff is lovely. There is really attention to details which I appreciate 2 pools although the largest one is not to be used by children under 16 in theory. The breakfast is fantastic, far above any other hotels we stayed in Thailand. We didnt have transport but there are shops and restaurants and everything you need walking distance. I defintely would stay again. 😞 - None

Quiet, beautiful place 😀 - Service was superb, all the staff so helpful and friendly. The breakfast is delicious and varied. Both pools are fantastic. Spacious and comfortable room. Right next to the beach, free kayaks and SUPs

A beautiful resort with a great location. 😀 - The place looked lovely - once inside the gate. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The pools were especially nice as was the breakfast. We liked being able to walk to the waterfall nearby and ride bicycles from a shop on the street. 😞 - Quite frankly there was nothing to dislike.

Beautiful wooden bungalows surrounded by lush gardens in the heart of Kai Bae 😀 - The staff were super friendly, this place really has heart! It was my birthday and they went out of their way to make me feel special, even made me a cake with candles. Very comfortable room with gorgeous walkways surrounded my lush gardens. Right in the Main Street of Kai Bae. Big adult only pool and another lovely pool for families with kids. Can’t wait to come back here to this gem of a spot. The perfect place to stay and really reasonably priced. 😞 - Nothing

Beautiful resort, lovely location for a reasonable price. 😀 - Gajapuri is a beautiful resort surrounded by a lovely beach on one side, and a mountain on the other side. The location is amazing at it is in the most lively area, in between the two popular beaches. The staff is friendly and the service is incredible. They work with a lovely lady if you need scooter rental service. An amazing place to relax.
