I’m going on holiday today for a week, so no time for a proper write up. But early this morning, it was a 6.30am start, I took part in the Ultra trail Koh Chang event in the south east of the island. Pics taken with my phone whilst running, so not the best quality.
This event was divided into three races 13Km, 35Km and 66Km. As the last race I did was around 30 years ago, and until a few weeks ago I had never been a runner, I did the 13KM.
It was great fun. Some very serious runners but the majority were just people enjoying themselves, taking as many selfies as possible and seeing a bit of the island most visitors never see.
The route that took people from the school in Salakphet through the village and then over the hill and down to Wai Chaek beach. It’s a deserted beach although some people visit for day trips or even camp overnight there.
Hopefully this is the start of an annual event.
