Koh Chang Grandview Resort is located at the far southern end of White Sand beach Resort. Whist it enjoys great views north along the length of the beach, there isn’t any beach at the resort itself – just a rocky shoreline.
The first thing to remember when booking Koh Chang Grandview Resort is that this isn’t a beach resort. You have to walk 5 minutes to the beach access near Du Talay Hotel to get down to the sand. That being said, the resort offers a good choice of rooms and is better value for money than many others on White Sand beach.
The Standard rooms and Garden Villa rooms are bright an airy and tastefully decorated. These are the cheapest rooms, from ariound 2,000 Baht upwards in high season. But I think look nicer than the more expensive Superior Cottage, which is a bit dated.
Pay a little more and you can stay in the Deluxe rooms. These are larger and have two options, a ground floor room with access to a small swimming pool. Or an upper floor room with excellent sunset sea views over the garden area.
One final room, which always impresses me is the Family Seaview room. This is more of a small stand alone villa by the sea. It has a private entrance and secluded sundeck overlooking the sea. It offers great value for money, with two bedrooms and a living room area. From around 5,500 Baht/night High Season.
The main downside of Koh Chang Grandview Resort is that whilst it;s by the sea it isn’t on the beach. However I think this is offset by it having a quieter location, away from noisy beachfront bars and restaurants, whilst still having plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. And the room rates are very reasonable.
