Bhu Tarn Resort is a small, comfortable hotel with rooms situated around a garden and pool area. What makes it special is that it’s linked to Klong Prao Resort by a footbridge across a lagoon.  This gives guests easy access to the beach and also to the facilities at Klong Prao Resort.

If you like this type of hotel then it’s worth comparing it to the nearby Koh Chang Paradise Hill or The Erawan, on White Sand beach.

Deluxe garden View room at Bhu Tarn Resort

There are just 21 rooms at Bhu Tarn Resort. These are a minimum of 40sqm in size and so are far more spacious than most hotel rooms on the island.  They also come with all the amenities you;d expect – safety box, TV LED , Mini-bar, Coffee Maker, Bathtub, Shower, Hairdryer, Bathrobe and Slippers.  The bathrooms even have double sinks.  Something usually only seen in 5 star resorts. However the high season room rates are from around 2,000 – 2,500 Baht/night.  Which is much lower than you’d expect for the standard of room.

There are three categories of room, based on the views from the balconies.  The nicest views are from the Lake view rooms which look across the lagoon towards the sea and have sunset views.  However, as the balcony is compact, you probably won’t be using it that much anyway.  Just go for one of the other rooms with a regular view and then enjoy the sunset from the beach.

The resort restaurant serves a buffet breakfast but the selection is fairly limited, due to it being a small resort.  On the roadside nearby there are numerous small restaurants, shops and bars.  So grabbing an inexpensive lunch or dinner in the evening is a simple task.  As the main road is also right outside reception, guests can easily hop on a pick up truck taxi and head to one of the other beaches for a night out.

As value for money goes, Bhu Tarn Resort is one of the best mid-range resorts on the island.  No major downsides to staying there, apart from it not being right on the beach.  So definitely recommended if you prefer smaller resorts, a large room and great value for money.

A bit expensive , but worth it 😀 - very quiet and very neat . Connected by a floating bridge to the sister property which has a beautiful seaside restaurant .very good wifi speed . huge spacious bathroom and a very beautiful sit out with beds with a nice view of the small lagoon . fantastic breakfast . 😞 - people do not pick up the phone . secondly the front office closes at 9:00 PM. if you need help after 9 it is is difficult . there’s there is the practice of taking 1000 Bhat as a refundable security deposit

Nice option for Koh Chang 😀 - the swimming pool in front of the room the quiet location in spite of being on the road side the helpful staff the access to the Klong Phrao Resort and its facilities (beach, gym, swimming pool, beach front restaurant) the good breakfast (vast choice of dishes) 😞 - the rooms are not so fresh the shower temperature could not be adjusted (always boiling hot), the kids had to shower outside

excellent for the money paid. 😀 - this was a great place to stay. the pool was amazing and quiet. you can also use the other pool at the sister facility as well which I didn’t think was as nice but right on the beach. the room was huge (we booked the bigger ones) and super cold and really clean. the bathroom by far the best I’ve had since arriving. house keeping every day and water in rooms. location was on the quieter part of the beach so not much at front but I did have a great massage right opposite and also the small kitchen food shack is great at great prices too. I wanted to book again for later in the stay but songkran meant it was fully booked. you get robes, slippers and all the info you need. really recommend. beach was also good and a short walk along is koh Chang seafood which do great food and great cocktails at great prices! 😞 - only thing I’d say was the buffet breakfast had a lot of choice but I wasn’t keen on it. I don’t like buffet so could be that and also the music playing made me feel like I was waiting for a funeral each morning 😂 think it’s meant to be relaxing! honestly though that’s the only thing other than that it was great.
