Sunrise Beach Resort is a new (opened in late 2018) boutique resort located on a small beach on the east coast of the island. It offers mid-price Beachfront and Sea View bungalows for guests who are looking for a quiet spot for their vacation.
Longterm visitors to the island will know the location and may well recognize some of the bungalows – as Sunrise Beach Resort is built on the site of The Souk (a long standing budget bungalow resort). The Souk restaurant is still there but Sunrise Beach Resort has taken over the bungalows and has built a new pool and additional bungalows adjacent.
As it is a new resort the gardens haven’t yet reached the same stage in their growth as their neighbours at Amber Sands Beach Resort and Serenity Resort. So the grounds appear a bit sparse and less attractive.
But the bungalows are spotlessly clean and guests love the large swimming pool and swim up bar. However, the staff are the overriding reason to stay here. They are mentioned in most reviews as being some of the most kind and helpful you will find anywhere. The only downside is that there are only a couple of small shops within walking distance and options for dining out at night are limited.
So another small resort that is definitely recommended. You’re hardest decision will be to choose this or Amber Sands or Serenity Resort. Two other highly rated small resorts also share this stretch of beach – Amber Sands and Sunrise Beach Resort. Check them out and see which you prefer.
