Bhuvarin Resort in Bangbao is a boutique property by the shores of Bangbao Bay. The rooms are built on the hillside that slopes, quite steeply in places, down to the sea. Down at sea level there is a beachfront restaurant and bar area.

However, the highlight is the view across Bangbao bay to Klong Kloi beach and the mountains on the opposite side. The hillside pool has some of the best views on the island and is a great place to have lunch and a swim – even if you aren’t staying at the resort.
Kayaks are freely available for guests use and the resort will also take people over the either Bangbao village or the beach on the opposite side of the bay for free.
The young Thai couple who own & manage the resort are also well regarded by guests who praise their service minded attitude and friendliness. If you want to be more than just a room number and actually get to know the owners and staff of the place you are staying then you’d like Bhuvarin.
As with the other resorts in this area, it is a very quiet location and if you a good spot to get away from the package tourists who descend on the island’s main beaches during High Season. The main downside is that it’s a long way to walk to a beach or the village. However the resort does provide a free shuttle service to the beach nearby and can also pick guests up when they arrive on the island.
Poor 😀 - The view is beautiful. The staff are lovely and very helpful. 😞 - The quality of the construction of the bungalows is not great. The air conditioning was not powerful enough to cool the room properly, it took 3 days before the temperature in the room was comfortable-ish. It should be noted that we were there during the hottest season. When we first arrived it was sweltering and the smell was quite musty. The water in the shower stings the eyes quite badly, and I didn't feel clean after showering. The doors to the rooms are warped by humidity and do not close well, and the gap under the door means that insects enter very easily. Sure it's the tropics, but some maintenance could prevent this. Breakfast is bad and cheap, with 4 options to choose from, and the juices/jam/honey are artificial. The pool is beautiful, but not refreshing at all as it is in the sun the whole day with barely any shade.

Good 😀 - The room was nice. We had a beautiful view. 😞 - The place is not suitable for people with a disability. The staff was impersonal. The location was a bit far from the restaurants and the nearest village. They offer a scooter rental with a company they work with, but the service is from the rental is bad.

This place is fantastic….it’s a little bit out on a limb so you need transportation if you want get around the island….t 😀 - Location was fantastic…..view from room was exceptional 😞 - Nothing really but you had to pass a couple derelict resorts to get there….not really a negative but could think of anything else I didn’t like.

beautiful view and decent rooms 😀 - awesome view and very affordable 😞 - location is isolated. the property needs to fit drain covers or water closets as the rooms smell of the sewers

Beautiful views, friendly staff, amazing pool. 😀 - The staff were super friendly and helpful. The aircon in our orginal room was not working too well so they upgraded us for free. The view from both the rooms and the pool were amazing and it was a very quiet peaceful area to stay in. The staff helped us book a taxi as well as a boat trip, they even gave us plasters and things to clean a wound after my friend cut her foot at the beach. Their passion fruit mojitos were amazing! 😞 - The food was just okay and a little overpriced for the quality of it.
