The White Elephant Resort is owned by the nearby sports bar of the same name. The resort is a few minutes walk from the beach but for this also means that the rooms are better value for money than many which are closer to the sand.
The Standard and Superior bungalows all have king size beds, ensuite bathroom and air-conditioning. As well as room numbers, the bungalows also have names. These are of characters from old English TV series. ( So you could end up staying in ‘Del Boy’, for example. ) Rooms also have the local cable TV which has 80+ channels although very few are in English. The Superior rooms also feature a small kitchen area.
The centerpiece of the resort is the salt water swimming pool. This has plenty of sunloungers and seating, plus a bar area – making it an ideal place to sunbathe and also socialise in the evening. Guests also receive a 20% discount card for the White Elephant Sports Bar. Although there are plenty of other options for both Thai and western food in the area.
The main downside is that guests mention the resort needs some refurbishment. But overall, for around 1,000 Baht / night an up it’s value for money for anyone looking for an inexpensive base on White Sand beach.

Superb 😀 - Great little houses, close to the city center, swimming pool, deckchairs by the pool, peace. 😞 - Wi-fi poor operation, the pool bar does not work

It has potential but needs some serious renovations and a lot more cleaning of both the inside of the apartment and outd 😀 - The location wasn’t bad, a 15 minute walk from white sands centre. Had a nice pool. 😞 - we were very disappointed with this. It wasn’t very clean, and the bungalows needed some serious renovation. There was so many bugs and mosquitos inside as there were gaping holes everywhere and loads of space around the door, ants got into all our bags and clothes and I was bitten alive during the nighttimes. there was mould all over the inside of the fridge. The outdoor area clearly hadn’t been touched in a long time and was very unkept - there was a pool table but looked as though would crumble if you tried to use it. The staff weren’t the friendliest, we had booked a whole week but left 3 days early as it was making us a bit miserable and they wouldn’t give us any refund, didn’t say sorry or even ask how our stay was.

Superb 😀 - The fact that it was a chalet and had a balcony to sit out on 😞 - The pool are, the pool itself was good but all the loungers were broken, pool table -if you can call it that. Went into the pub side for one of there special meal deals, only got half of it
