Bailan Beach Resort recently added a new hotel block, which changed the type of guests they receive. In the past it was a small bungalow resort but the new rooms have more than doubled the number of guests overnight. However, it’s still a relatively peaceful spot and one of the most popular resorts in the area.

It has a small sandy beach and large garden area – ideal for relaxing. Bailan is a hamlet with a few shops and small resorts but none of the nightlife associated with the larger, more well known beach areas to the north. ( However, for a night out, Lonely beach is only a 5 minute taxi ride away.)
The bungalows are mainly set in a tropical garden with a handful of beachfront bungalows occupying prime position. By the beach you’ll find hammocks strung between the palms where you can read or relax and listen to the sound of the ocean. Not ideal for swimming though as there are a lot of stones on the seabed.
The new hotel block is at the rear of the property. Rooms are bright and spacious and tastefully furnished. Those on the upper floors have great sunset sea views.
The atmosphere has changed over recent years, due to the number of additional rooms. But it’s still a pleasant, peaceful spot with good value rooms and a laid back seaside location. Just don’t expect a real beach.
Beautiful, friendly, delicious l and relaxing 😀 - I loved the location, sea view villa. It is about 30 minutes drive from the ferry. It is a little further out but worth it for the serenity. The restaurant was great and the staff were friendly. The road is a little sketchy so you have to be careful riding around. 😞 - The bathroom was a little dated. At first I thought it was unclean but it was just old. The rooms were clean. The bed was very firm, but I found that throughout Asia and I don't mind.

😀 - Nice clean and comfortable chalet. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Good swimming pool 😞 - Only negative is that it is not a place you can swim in the sea from. Very shallow with stone bottom

Superb 😀 - The best sunsets, beautiful surroundings and superior cabins lived up to expectations. Friendly staff and a magical place. Although there were not many choices at breakfast, they were also very tasty. 😞 - Location - it's further away from everything and expect to rent a vehicle. More breakfast selection.

Very good 😀 - The place is beautiful and ideally placed, people are welcoming and sweet, breakfast also pretty good and well furnished. 😞 - The AC is unfortunately super noisy, which is such a pitty. Also the bed could be more fluffy but apparently that's a thai standard.

Hello. Excuse me just a question. I heard talking about Thailand here. I’m about going on holiday to Asia. I would like some info on Koh Chang in Thailand. I would know if It’s a good place to go with family or should I choose another place? Thank You so much.
