Gorgeous, luxurious traditional Thai house on Koh Mak.
Koh Mak Garden Villa is based on traditional Thai design and is known locally as “Ruen Faet Thai” , or the Twin Thai Villa. Built on tall stilts to benefit from the cooling sea breeze, the property has a total floor area including balconies of 383 square meters. Balconies, floors and facings are of teak. The house has a distinctively Thai steep pitch roof, with tiles traditionally used for temples.
The garden has large areas of lawn interspersed with tropical plants and flowers and a 25 square meter teak pavilion or “sala”. Mangoes, papaya, banana, dragon fruit, longon, passion fruit, limes, water-melon, beans, cucumber and chillies are just some of the fruits and vegetables you will find thriving in the garden.
Koh Mak Garden Villa has four bedrooms, or three bedrooms and a study, five bathrooms and stands in extensive, beautifully tended gardens bursting with tropical fruits and flowers. There is a badminton court in the garden and a swimming beach just 300m away. Chai and Jumpee, the resident housekeeper/gardener couple, lovingly and tirelessly care for the property, do all the cleaning, washing, shopping etc, and make life very comfortable indeed.
The two-wing design, with seven verandas, ensures privacy and quiet for two couples or a couple with children. Koh Mak Garden Villa accommodates up to 10 people. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, good internet connections, table football, video games, and a car and three motorcycles/scooters at guests’ disposal.
