The owner of this small resort has been running it for over a decade but it is now time for him to take a break from the day to day running of the resort and so it so would like to rent it out. This is a great opportunity for someone to live and work on Koh Chang without having to build a business from scratch or invest a large amount of money upfront.
During the past decade the resort as built a reputation as being one of Koh Chang’s ‘Hidden gems’. It is located by a rocky beach on the west coast of the island – less than 5 minutes drive from the busier areas of White Sand beach and Klong Prao beach.
The resort consists of seven airconditioned rooms. Three are bungalow style and the other four are in two circular two storey buildings. One room on the ground floor and one on the upper floor. In front of these is a garden area which leads to a terrace and restaurant by the sea. Rooms rent for 1,200 – 1,600 Baht per night during High Season and 800 – 1,000 Baht during Low Season.
The resort gets many return guests and has no need to heavily advertise to gain customers – word of mouth and recommendations on numerous travel guides and websites do most of the marketing. At present the owner doesn’t pay for any advertising and has no contracts with tour agents to help fill rooms – as he doesn’t need to.
The restaurant which is not included in the rental, is rated by many people as being the best on the island draws customers from across the island and isn’t just reliant on guests staying at the resort. It is not only the food that draws customers but the ambiance. It is one of the few, quiet, romantic restaurants on the island. No loud music, just the sound of waves lapping on the shore. It will continue to be run by the owner’s sister.
Basic accommodation for the owner is included and this could easily be extended. In addition there are three rooms for staff. During High Season four staff are employed, during the Low Season just two. Staff each earn 6,000 baht per month and receive free food and lodging.
The length of rental contract can be discussed with the owner.
Annual Rent: 1,200,000 Baht ( Paid annually in advance.)
