The Beaches

White Sand Beach October 2013

Northern White Sand beach

Just a few photos taken on day last week on White Sand beach.  You’ll notice the tide is pretty high.  it isn’t like this all the time  – chances are there will be much more sand visible when you visit.   The far northern end of the beach is way better than the densely packed southern and central area – which is where you’ll see the rows of deckchairs on the sand and will find the main road lined with shop after shop catering exclusively for tourists. Make the effort to walk 10 mins north and you are rewarded with one of the best stretches of sand on the island.   The view above is looking towards this section of beach from the restaurant at Rock Sand Resort.

The photos are in a kind of order.  Starting at the south end of the beach at grand View Resort, wandering north along the sand, then back south along the main road to Grand View, with a quick detour back onto the beach on the way.
