If you take a snorkelling trip by speedboat whilst on holiday on Koh Chang you’ll almost certainly stop for lunch on Koh Rang. This is a medium sized island to the west of Koh Mak, uninhabited apart from a National Park Ranger Station. The ranger station has a camp site and a couple of bungalows for rent and also a pretty good restaurant that none of the tour boats stop at. You’ll need your own boat to go there.
The area show in the photos if the beach on the north of the island. At the far southern end is another great beach and there are a couple of smaller beaches on the west coast. The east of the island is rugged cliffs – a popular spot for people on sea kayaking tours to test their skills.
