Right now a tropical storm is passing over Vietnam and towards Thailand. Koh Chang, and elsewhere in Thailand will get the edge of it. Luckily, the weather here is nowhere as extreme as in the Philippines or Vietnam but when the remnants of a storm do pass over the sea can be a tad choppy.
Swimming isn’t a good idea when this happens as people tend to drown, but you can get some good photos of the waves from rocky headlands on the island. In Bangbao, the cliff-side walkway at Nirvana Resort and restaurant and cliff-top at Cliff Cottage make for some good photo ops. Likewise the rocky headland at Chai-chet, which is at the north end of Klong Prao beach. This can easily be accesed through Chai-chet resort and is where these photos were taken as I couldn’t be bothered heading all the way down to Bangbao.
To give you an idea of scale, you will be able to make out a couple of people standing on the top of rocks – on the left hand side of some of the pics.
Oh my. It reminds me of the winter sea in my home but I am sure it is warmer there :-) How did you make the first photograph. It really looks strange but good, if you know what I mean.
