September 14

It’s been one of those very damp, miserable, weeks where nothing of interest has happened or even looked like happening.  Been busy with ‘stuff’ so this very lazy update is just to show I haven’t died of boredom or been washed away in a flood just yet. Hopefully, the weather is beginning to improve – there was a glimpse of sun today.

Something to Look At

Took  a drive down to Klong Son, the Klong Son on the mainland, not the one of Koh Chang,  for lunch the other day to show one of our guests what some real non touristy fishing villages and small ports look like.

Whilst it’s always good to see the Sex Pistols. Is there really nothing happening now? I heard there was a pool league going on.

  • Ian says:

Apparently there is. No doubt there is also a Bridge night and Whist drive happening somewhere on the island too. Possibly even a game of Dominoes. But the day I find a pool league of interest is probably the day after I have my lobotomy. ;-)

Hi, heading over to Thailand in November for two weeks and trying to decide on which Island to visit. I’m determind not to go back to old haunts (Koh Samui, Koh Phan Ngan, Koh Tao etc). I don’t really no anything about Koh Chang so would appreicate some advice. What I’m looking for is a quiet beach, a beach hut, some good restaurants nearby, and that’s pretty much it.

My favourite beach I’ve visited in Thailand thus far is Bottle Beach on Koh Pgan Ngan. Is there anywhere remotely like that on Koh Chang?

Also, any tips on the easiest way to get from Bangkok to Koh Chang would be welcomed.

    Thanks in advance,

    Justin

Lonely Beach is probably what you are after. See the Island Guide > Lonely Beach section and you’ll find photos and videos of the beach in the relevant sections.
See the ‘Getting Here’ pages – easiest and cheapest way from Bangkok is by bus.
