When this site, which is Wordpress based, was hacked in September 2009 I had a few offers of help from readers of the site who knew far more than me about securing sites and ensuring this doesn’ t happen again.
One very helpful guy was Cyril, a Frenchman who previously lived in Thailand for several years and is currently a Senior Developer for a very well known travel website in Europe.
He spent a lot of time offering advice, code snippets and battling with the hackers on my behalf, eventually winning.
He will be returning to live in Thailand at the end of 2009, so if you are looking for a reliable IT guy to either design and set up a site for you, help secure a current site, integrate a CMS, optimise your site for search engines or simply debug a site that isn’t working as it should, then you really should contact him.
His rates are very reasonable and he has previously done other work for several business owners on Koh Chang. But regardless of where you are located, if you have problems with your website and need someone to help out, Cyril is your man.
In Feb 2010 I used him to migrate my sites from one host to another more secure one. He took care of everything and the sites weren’t offline at all during the process and no email disappeared into a black hole either.
