- Colin & Yu Ling's Valentine Day
Colin & Yu Ling had rented our guesthouse
as their honeymoon location here on Koh Chang. They had already got
married a few months ago but it was a rushed affair and the proposal was of the
"Hey, let's get hitched" variety rather than an 'occasion you'll remember for
always' type of affair.
Colin asked me to help out and do something
that would cost the same as a meal in a posh hotel but be far more memorable,
would be a big surprise/shock for YuLing and be something that you can't
do back home.
So with a bit of help from the local beach
bar and elephant camp this is what she got . . .
Gallery 13 - Lonely

Leave the flowers at home and say it with an elephant We weren't sure how YuLing would react to an elephant . . . as she's abit nervouse around some dogs. And yes, the sight of an elephant with your name on it walking up to your table at a beach front bar is unexpected. Bitunsure about petting it at first . . . One of those Kodak moments. Colin gave her a diamond ring, which had been handed down from his Mum. Still the ring is the attraction, must be time to pet the elephant soon. The beach bar had a plate fo fruit for the elephant to eat. Time to cool down in the sea. Our dog decided he had to come and see the elephant too and ended up in most of the photos. As memorable events go this was up there with seeing Springsteen live for the first time.
