- Klong Prao Beach
These photos were all taken around the
north end of Klong Prao beach. This area has a lot of resorts suitable for
families - most have freeform pools, kids play areas and so on. The plazas
nearby are handy for ATMs, minimarts, cheap eats, bike rental etc etc.

Bae
Chai-chet Cape is at the very north end of the beach. Several dive companies and snorkelling tour operators moor their boats here. Far more conveneint to catch a boat here than in Bangbao. View over the bay from Chai-chet Cape Standing at the north end of the beach looking south. Paradise Resort is probably the best of the bunch if a modern, good size bungalow with TV, aircon by the beach is what you're after. Looking north towards Chai-chet cape. The plaza isn't the livliest you'll come across but if the shops are open you can kill 10 minutes with a stroll around it. Elephants, that's original. Entrance to the new, and currently very empty plaza. Our dog likes to swim here. Head towards Klong Plu waterfall, about 100 metres before the entrance to the falls you come round a sharp left hand corner. Stop here, walk down the short dirt track to the river. Can also cross the river and walk up the track on the opposite bank if you fancy an adventure. Back on the main road near the waterfall junction. 'Stay here, cheap price' the sign says. Slum rooms for groups of 12 Thai students who dont want to spend more than 10 baht/head on accommodation. London has St Paul's, Rome has the Vatican, Bangkok has the Grand Palace . . . . Koh Chang has Wat Klong Prao gate as it's architectural icon. Nice paint job.
