Magic Resort is most definitely more of a ‘Thai style’ beach bungalow resort. It’s the sort of place you stay when you want to park outside your bungalow, plug in the rice cooker and crank up the mobile karaoke machine. Value for money bungalows in a nice location, but not for everyone.
Coconut Beach Resort is the northern most beachfront resort on Klong Prao beach.A range of 2-3 star accommodation from hotel rooms to beach bungalows. Close to shops, bank, restaurants. Good for families on a budget.
Barali Resort is a pretty good 3-4 star resort at the southern end of Klong Prao beach. Convenient location and good all round choice if you can’t decide where to stay.
Siam Bay Resort is in a secluded location at the far southern end of Kai Bae Beach. It’s a very peaceful spot with no loud bars, annoying beach vendors or guests from other resorts wandering past your bungalow. Range of rooms including new pool villas.
BanPu Resort isn’t a resort to get over excited about. It’s on the beach, although not the best section, and is conveniently located for shops, restaurants etc but it has a very dated feel to it. Nothing here that you can’t get for cheaper, or far better at many other resorts.
No time for a proper update so to tide you over until New Year a few photos of Christmas Eve on Koh Chang. I even travelled in time – according to the photo above, either that or the elephant camp ballsed things up.
