After you pass Ramayana Resort the road heads away from the beach and meanders through Klong Prao village, before running parallel to the beach again towards its southern end.
In Klong Prao village you’ll find an assortment of small shops and restaurants and even several ATMs and a bank
The far southern section, known locally as ‘Map Kang Khao’ is home to several of the island’s best resorts whilst the centre of the beach is where you will find a couple of cheap backpacker places that are far quieter than any of the Lonely Beach huts. One thing lacking in this area is good, mid range accommodation by the beach, as the cheaper resorts are pretty uninspiring.
Use the controls to zoom in and click on the icons for more info about specific places. Not every place to stay or eat with the locals by the roadside is listed. But enough to get you out of your resort without fear of falling off the edge of the world if you stray out of your comfort zone.
