Room rates from 1,600 Baht/night. Klong Prao Resort. Avoid the cheapest rooms and go for the much newer villas, good value from 2,500 Baht/night. Very good beach. Big downside is that it is popular with Russian package tourists. Bring your game face to the breakfast buffet and when grabbing a sun lounger – it is survival of the fittest.
Amari Emerald Cove Resort Koh Chang
Room rates from 4,700 Baht/night. The Amari Emerald Cove Resort Koh Chang is, overall the best resort on the island. Other resorts may be on better stretches of beach or may have more interesting architecture, but if you want luxury, well trained staff, professional Western management then go for the Amari.
The Dewa Koh Chang
From 4,800 Baht/night. The Dewa Koh Chang is definitely the most interestingly designed of Koh Chang’s luxury resort. It’s bare concrete and funky, sparkling tiling fall into the ‘love it or hate it category’. Fortunately, guests seem to love it. Worth considering for a luxury break.
Paradise Resort and Spa
Room rates from 3,800 baht. Paradise Resort is one of the few places that ticks all the boxes in terms of quality of rooms, convenient but quiet location on a prime stretch of beachfront. Recommended for couple or families.
Chai Chet Resort

Chai Chet Resort is located in a superb location on the headland overlooking Klong Prao beach. Whilst the resort doesn’t have any actual beachfront, it is only a 2 minute walk to the beach from the reception area.

Ramayana Resort
From 2,300 Baht/night. Ramayana Resort isn’t located on the beach but does provide a free shuttle service to the beach for guests who want to enjoy a 4 star standard of accommodation but also are looking to save considerably on beachfront room rates.
Panviman Koh Chang Resort
Room rates from 7,100 Baht/night. Panviman Resort is located in the centre of Klong Prao beach. This is one of the quietest areas of beach on Koh Chang, even in high season you will only see a couple of dozen people out of the beach within a few hundred metres of the resort. Expensive but you will be on the quietest stretch of beach on the west coast of the island.
Tropicana Resort
Room rates from 4,000 Baht/night. Koh Chang Tropicana Resort is one of the most popular resorts on Klong Prao beach. Accommodation in spacious bungalows or new hotel rooms. But a small beachfront that gets busy in high season. Convenient location though and a safe bet if you aren’t sure which hotel to choose.
Aana Resort and Spa
From 2,900 Baht/night. Aana Resort is located just off Klong Prao beach on the Klong Plu river estuary. It’s hidden away, out of sight of the main road and with no loud bars, tailor shops, tour agents etc nearby. Good option if you like peace and quiet on an estuary most visitors to the island never see. ( You can also wave to us, our house is opposite.)
Coconut Beach Resort
From 1,700 Baht/night. Coconut Beach Resort is the northernmost beachfront resort on Klong Prao beach. A range of 2-3 star accommodation from hotel rooms to beach bungalows. Close to shops, bank, restaurants. Good for families on a budget.
VJ Hotel and Health Spa
From 2,100 Baht/night. VJ Hotel & Health Spa is sandwiched between the two of the best five star resorts on the island – the Amari Emerald Cove and The Dewa at the southern end of Klong Prao beach. Good value rooms and nice location.
Barali Beach Resort
Room rates from 4,300 baht. Barali Resort is a pretty good 3-4 star resort at the southern end of Klong Prao beach. No standouts, good all round choice if you can’t decide where to stay.
