Rayang Phurin Island Resort, as the name suggests, is on the picturesque, private island of Koh Rayang, a 5 minute boat ride from Koh Mak.

This small island, approximately 12,000sqm in size has no permanent residents and the only buildings are the bungalows and restaurant from the resort. There are no roads or vehicles of any kind on the island.

Most of the island is taken up by a jungle covered hill.  At the foot of the hill bungalows nestle against a lovely white sand beach.  Nearby there is a volleyball court, games room and restaurant. Take the path up the small rocky hill behind the restaurant and you reach a private dining area.  Here you can have a private dinner with no noise, no other diners, just you and the stars.

The bungalows are fairly basic, no frills but clean, ensuite fan huts – but this isn’t a resort for people who want to be pampered, it’s a place to come to escape and do nothing for a few days.  Since being renovated, several European TV commercials with a ‘Paradise Island’ theme have been filmed here.

Recommended as a place to unwind, catch up on your reading and get away from reality for a while.
