VJ Hotel and Health Spa

Handcrafted by on September 4, 2011 No Comment

vjFrom 2,100 Baht/night

VJ Hotel & Health Spa is sandwiched between the two of the best five star resorts on the island – the Amari Emerald Cove and The Dewa.  (In fact, you can see the Amari through the window in the photo to the left.)

Like these resorts, VJ Hotel has ensuite  airconditioned rooms with hot water, minibar and cable TV.  It also has a beachfront pool and restaurant plus a small spa/ massage place.

And that’s where the similarities end as VJ is a good 2 star resort. So whilst you get the basic amenities you also get lots of cheap tiles everywhere, shiny slippery floors, firm beds, dodgy food and no views  – other than the Amari and Dewa – from almost all the rooms.

However, if you can live with that and don’t require little luxuries  in order to enjoy your holiday,  then paying out just over 2,000 baht a night in high season for a functional, if sterile, room sandwiched between two of the island’s best hotels, then VJ Hotel is a good deal.  It is easy to get out and about to restaurants on the main road and there are a couple of beach bars nearby too. You could do worse if you are on a 2,000 Baht/night budget.

Room Rates for 2011-12: From around 2,100 Baht High Season
