Chivapuri and Gu’s Bay – Two New Resorts on Koh Chang

Handcrafted by on July 17, 2010 No Comment

A few photos of two new resorts that are now open for business on Koh Chang.

For all the flashpacker’s out there the new Gu’s Bay located by the sea in Bailan.  They currently have a dozen Fan & AC rooms completed with more being built for the coming High Season.  The Fan rooms aren’t much to write home about but those with AC are worth a look.  The two most attractive features about the resort are the very nicely designed reception area / bar / restaurant and the large garden area with shorefront pool.

Going up a notch or two in terms of price is Chivapuri Resort, located on Klong Kloi Beach on the southern coast of the island. A huge amount of money has been spent on building very nice studio bungalows and two bedroom houses which are available for rent but the concept & layout is a bit odd.  Very spacious, well decorated interiors though – as good as any on the island.  But construction is still ongoing with the reception area and pool still to be built. Not for people who want shops close by but a very nice beach with good views to the outlying islands to the south; and it will be quiet down there.  Worth staying if they offer some good introductory prices for their first High Season.

Gu’s Bay – By the sea in Bailan, just follow the signs. No website.

Chivapuri – Follow the west coast road as far as you can, then take the dirt track to the beach.  A few small signs roadside to follow.  www.Chivapuri.com
