PADI dive courses

Microsoft, McDonald's, PADI . . . . one size fits all worldwide.  Computer geeks piss and moan about Microsoft's dominance, no-one listens.  Anyone who's ever worried about eating processed fried fat swears they will never eat at McD's again - but they do.  Professional divers ,the kind of people who blow $2,000 on a wrist worn dive computer and actually know how to use it often sneer at die school proudly displaying the PADI logo.

But they aren't the mass market that PADI is after, it's everyone else, the other 99% of the world's population with disposable income - like you - for whom, learning the basics of diving by taking a standardised course is an ideal way to go.

All dive operators on this website offer PADI certified courses.  PADI,  the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, is the largest scuba certification organization in the world.  The organisation is  responsible for developing scuba programs and diver training products, monitoring scuba training conducted by more than 100,000 PADI Professionals worldwide and issuing and maintaining diver certification records.

Since its inception in 1966 PADI has grown to have members in more than 175 countries and territories and international service offices in nine countries. Approximately seven out of ten North American divers are certified by PADI, and approximately 55 percent of all divers worldwide are certified by PADI.  World domination is next on the agenda.

PADI Dive Courses

The courses below are all offered by dive schools on Koh Chang.  They cover the whole range of skills required to advance from total 'newbie who just wants to look at a few fish' beginner to employable Assistant Instructor, one able to tell tales and drop acronyms in front of a bar full of people in confidence.

Anyone deciding to make diving their career will find PADI offers numerous other specialised courses as well as Instructor Development Courses, however this type of professional course is outside the scope of this site as I haven't a clue about them.
